Independent Contractor Opportunities
If you meet the following guidelines and are interested in an opportunity to contract with a leader in the vehicle for hire industry you may stop by our offices at 5201 Gulf Blvd, St. Pete Beach, Monday thru Friday between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. One of our company representatives would be happy to help you fill out your application and explain the steps you must take to start a successful independent business as vehicle for hire driver.
Driver Requirements
- Must be at least 25 years of age
- Must possess a valid Florida driver's license
- If your Florida driver's license is less than 3 years old, you must provide a 3 year verifiable commercial driving history from the state of your last license
- Must have good communication skills in the English language
- Must be able to obtain a St. Petersburg Police Department Taxi Permit:
- No Misdemeanor Conviction within the last 3 years
- No Felony Convictions within the last 5 years
- No Charges Pending
- No DUI or Illegal drug convictions within the last 5 years
- Must be able to meet the minimal guidelines set forth by our insurance carrier. Disqualifiers include:
- Driving while license suspended or revoked
- Speeding more than 30 mph over the speed limit
- Three or more moving violations in one year
- Reckless driving
- School Zone violations
- Must be proficient in map reading and have a working knowledge of the streets and roads of Pinellas County
- Have a strong sense of customer service and a commitment to provide your passengers with the best possible experience
